Mixxx DJ free Mixing software error

Hi guys,

I have installed Mixxx DJ mixing software and at my free time I use it to create Mixes of my favorite songs. But recently I have been getting an error when I open the program. I do not know where to start from now that I reinstalled the software and did not succeed.

Sound Device Busy

Mixxx cannot access the sound device. Another application is using sound device or it is not plugged in.

Retry after closing the other application or reconnecting the sound device.

Reconfigure Mixxx to use another sound device

Exit without saving your settings.

Mixxx DJ free Mixing software error

Hi Jose,
I believe you have installed the Mixxx software in Ubantu desktop. The issue can be caused due to 2 reasons:
1)Unsupported Sample rate
2)Unknown background processes utilizing the sound card
Method 1: Change the sample rate in your Mixxx options to 48 KHz (48000) and try to restart the software application.
Method 2: If the problem still exists even after defaulting the sample rate, then you must find and kill the system background process that is utilizing the sound card. To do so, follow the below steps:
1) Run the following command as root to bring out the background processes. Code: Select all fuser/dev /snd/*Kill all the processes that are fetched, except the one namely 'kmix'.
2) Restart the Mixxx application.
