How to setup MS Access with and aid of ODBC database

Hi,

I am new to writing a data to  MS Access with and aid of  ODBC database. I want to ask help on how to proceed with my setup.

I'm already done enabling connection and also with doing the option on how ODBC database data logs do the connection, such as the path and alias name.

I also managed to setup on the some default functions such as date and time for stamping.

ODBC database 3.2.2 build 12

Errors handling

While database error occur

Stop writing
Stop writing and show a message
Don't react and write a message to a log file

I am now stuck to my next routing on how to handle error,or how the database will react to a scenario when there is an error.

Please help me understand what option I should choose.

How to setup MS Access with and aid of ODBC database

In Error handling page while setting up ODBC database, you will specify how the software should react to errors that will occur while writing to a database.

With setting up ODBC error handling, it is advisable to choose "Don't react and write a message to a log file". We want the data to be available and we require the program to operate regardless of an error.

The other options are normally used when testing the plug in module with a new database.

Hello Lukegams,

Actually you already finished your work. Mostly get confused in the starting point. When I was first installing ODBC I was so confused and was not able to take actions by my own. One of my friends helped me on this. Here the three options have three different meaning.

Usually the first is for only experts those who know all the codes and tags and all memorized in their brain.

The second one is for professionals.

The last one is for new learners like us.
