Hi,
I am having a headache today trying to solve some InfoPath issue. The problem is, I cannot receive any data on any list, and I can't even publish my forms to a SharePoint form library.
The operation could not be completed.
I already reviewed my installation of InfoPath and removed the installation and installed it again, but same problem exists that eats up a lot of my time. This problem came about when I tried to add another top level site on my application. As I checked, it also falls on same correct location.
I am new with this type of application. Please share some ideas on how to solve my posted problem.
Thanks in advance.

Unable to receive data on MS-InfoPath: The operation could not be completed.
If this error: “Microsoft InfoPath. The operation could not be completed” keeps on annoying you, it would actually mean that you haven’t created a top level site collection. You mention though that you tried doing it and that’s where the error keeps popping up.
Let’s try to go over the process of creating a top level site collection and check everything out step by step.
First go to your Admin Site then follow the steps below.
-
On Site Collections, click on the Create site collections link.
-
Then from the drop down list, Select the web application where you wanted to create the site collection.
-
Give the title and the description then select “/” from the URL drop down list.
-
Then choose a template for your site and enter the primary site collection Administrator and OK.
Let’s see if this helps.
Note: “/” stands for a top level site. It should not be listed on the dropdown if you were already able to create a top level site since you can only create just one top level site per web application. In case you need to create several sub sites, you have to select “/sites/” from the drop down.
