Samsung Galaxy S7 specs and images leak months before its release
The latest addition to the Samsung Galaxy family, which is the Samsung Galaxy S7, is heading for a release in few months and the specs and significant information about the device started leaking to the press. Supposedly, Samsung Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge will reverse the unsatisfying sales figure of the Samsung Galaxy S5, but instead, Samsung decided to lower the price of their flagship phone to increase their sales figure. Analysts implied that even though the firm’s mobile division did a moderate success in the last quarter of the year, it didn’t boost the sale of Samsung’s flagship devices.
Recently, new images of the forthcoming Samsung Galaxy S7 has been flowing in. The GSM Arena site published the images of the supposed to be manufacturing parts of the latest flagship device. One is a panel of cameras labeled as SM-G930F, which is rumored to be the one used for Galaxy S7. The next image shows Galaxy S7’s developer version veiled in a rig to cover up its real design.
PhoneArena also issued benchmarks about a Samsung handset with the same label (SM-G930F). It was said that this Smartphone will sport a 5.1-inch screen with a screen resolution of 2560×1440, 4GB RAM, 12-MP rear-facing camera and an Exynos 8890 processor. Before that, there are also rumors that Samsung will launch three versions of the Galaxy S7, which includes two models with the extended screen to the edge and another one that includes bevel around its screen. It was also rumored that the U.S. model of the latest flagship phone from Samsung will also run with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. There are debates on whether the phone will feature a 12-MP or 20-MP camera. Previous leaks also suggest the S7 will have four versions such as Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy S7 Edge Plus, Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Plus.
Last Friday, Evan Blass of VentureBeat has shared another leaked image of the Galaxy S7 and this time, he showed a render of the supposed back of the upcoming Smartphone. Both designs looked very familiar and stayed very close to its predecessor, which is the Samsung Galaxy S6. It seems that the S7’s corners have rounded curves, and the edges appear to be narrowed instead of coming to an edge. The flash portion has been changed a bit, but overall, the differences are quite subtle.
Samsung is not known for making small changes. So far, the Samsung Galaxy S6 is one of the best flagship Smartphones that Samsung has ever shipped in terms of design; and it is important that they settled with what actually works. The Galaxy S7 is also expected to bring back several features missing from the Galaxy S6 such as the microSD slot and the waterproof feature. It is also questionable on whether the battery is removable or not. The Galaxy S7 will be unveiled in Barcelona this coming February 21, so we will find out more interesting details about this latest innovation from Samsung.
