I want to ask why does centralized access point management necessary and what are the usage that remote access management systems presented? Any ideas on this matter is highly appreciated.
What are the usage that remote access management systems presented?
Centralized access point provides good control over the whole Wireless infrastructure and is better if you consider security.
You can also configuration and firmware updates across number of device that are connected all in one click.
Deployment of Virtual local area networks and Service set Identifier is easy when you have a centralized access point.
You can also have better security from intrusions. Standalone points are very difficult to manage and are a burden whereas Centralized ones can be managed easily.
Cisco has wide range of wireless controllers that are centralized and can manage hundreds of access points as one. All you need to do with centralized management is to deployment i.e connect access point to trunk port if there is more than 1 wireless n/w.
Remote Access Manager manages communication b/w computers which are under and controlled by a secure server.
The functions it need to provide include : Internet connection sharing, Remote access & Routing , Secure Socket Tunneling Protocol Service,
