Skype Chat History Location in my computer

Hi,

How can we get a backup of the chat, for a Skype account, stored in the machine on which Skype is installed? Also, how can we clear all the chat history saved in the machine on which Skype is installed?

Skype Chat History Location in my computer

Backup Skype Chat History

To backup Skype chat history please follow the below steps:

1) Browse to the following folder:

C:Documents and Settings<windows user name>Application DataSkype

2) Copy all the files and folders and paste it in a safe location.

3) Now Backup is complete.
Restore Skype Chat History

To restore Skype chat history, please follow the steps below:

1) Before you start restoring you must first Sign Out and Quit Skype.

2) Then browse to the following folder:

C:Documents and Settings<windows user name>Application DataSkype

3) Now copy all the folders we backed earlier and paste it in the above location. You need to click ‘yes’ to overwrite files and folders.

4) Now you can sign-in to Skype and see all your chat history.

5) Restore Complete. Enjoy!
Skype Contacts

Don’t worry about Skype contacts, all your Skype contacts are stored on the Skype server.  So as soon as you install Skype and login to your Skype account all your contacts are grabbed. Hope this information ends all your queries.

Skype Chat History Location in my computer

Thanks tom  for the valuable information.

I always use skype to chat with my gf. But my detective sister always logs in to skype and reads the whole chat history and bombs me! Now i got the solution. It really helped me.
