Blackberry Software Error 1402 Could Not Open Key

Hi Experts,

While installing blackberry desktop software 6.0.2 on my machine running with Windows 7 I received an error message. It says, “Error 1402. Could not open key: UKNOWNComponents a bunch of numbers and letters a bunch of number and letters. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel”.

Have you any idea for the error 1402? I think it is not the problem with the Administrator access.

Please help.

Blackberry Software Error 1402 Could Not Open Key

Hi,

This issue fallout from two (2) causes:

1. The one installing did not have the matching permissions as the one using the add-in.
2. The registry entry has become corrupt.

The add-in is trying to write to the specific key and authorization for that registry key is limited. The problem can be resolution by setting the authorization to this registry key to permit complete control.
