Hello All,

Of late, I have been experiencing difficulties using my iPhone. When I click on something, I receive messages stating that the phone does not support the installed software. This is the case each time I try using a certain application.

I updated my phone’s software to 4.1, but it appears the iPhone does not support it. I tried using it today but it just froze.

Could this be the problem? I thought restoring it was the solution.

Therefore, after backing u my contacts, I clicked restore. The option “restore and update” popped up. I clicked on it, but after some time it stopped downloading.

The below attachment says it all.

iPhone does not support software updation

The iphone ”Wesley Frantz’s” iPhone could not be Restored.the device isn’t eligible for the requested build

OK

Can anyone offer any help? I would gladly appreciate.

Thank you.

Hi,

Maybe you are using an old iTunes version or a wrong firmware for your iPhone. Try to download the latest update of itunes. You will need this since the latest iOS versions needs new iTunes versions. Just go to https://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ to download the latest version. Next is to check if you are using a correct firmware IPSW file for your device. You can get the firmware from the following links below:

Hi

Additional information from the above solution is to check if you have re-routed your hosts file. Just put a # before the "74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com" and your problem will be resolved.
