Good day. USB 3.0 is much more likely an upgrade of the USB 2.0. The primary difference of the two is when it comes to its speed. Speed means the amount of time for a particular data to travel through the port to and from the machine. For the record, USB 3.0 has the fastest data throughput.

For most makers of USB devices, they will also update their products to the latest standards of USB’s so as to keep up with the competition, that is why you may notice that there are a lot of USB devices that runs with USB 3.0. But you don’t have to worry about compatibility issues if you are still having USB 2.0 because all upgrades are downward compatible.

I hope this helps.

Hello B.lie,

USB 3.0 is an upgraded version of US 2.0. Its is 10 times faster than the older version. It can process 4.8 Gbps of data whereas USB 2.0 can only process 480 Mbps. USB 3.0 is Full duplex i.e it can send and receive data at the same time. USB 3.0 is more expensive than USB 2.0 for the reason of its super speed.

Hi B.Lie

USB 3.0 is much faster than USB 2.0. USB2’s transferring speed is about 480 MB/s where USB3 supports 4.8 GB/s. From one USB2 port, you can hardly power multiple USB devices but USB3 can power multiple devices from one hub. Anyway, check out this Techyv post to get more information.
