So, my problem is when I open windows on Windows XP or Internet sites or applications, after a while when I'm at work, I wander a message that says:
(The instruction at "0x1003fa55" uses memory address "0x08ab4aac." The memory could not be "read" So Click OK to terminate the program. Click Cancel to debug the program).
And all windows are closed. Please tell me, how to solve this problem, because it's starting to bother me much.
You should have included the browser you are using. For example Internet explorer, Firefox, Chrome etc.
If you are visiting links with too long URL's then that message would normally appear. The reason for that is information is not properly stored in Index.Dat file that is located in the %userprofile%Local SettingsHistory folder.
There are a couple of options that would resolve this issue.
First is to clear the Temporary internet files and History cache. It depends on the browser you are using.
In Mozilla Firefox and Cometbird
Start the browser
On the tools menu, click options
Select Privacy
Perform the two operations: Clear your recent history and Delete individual cookies
After successfully performing step 4, restart the browser.
Second option is to clear your history folder.
Access windows explorer by selecting My Computer.
On the Tools Menu, select folder options
On the folder options, select view and scroll down to look for files and folders
There are only two options on the files and folder. Just select show hidden files and folders and click OK since you are looking for a hidden file.
Locate the %userprofile%Local SettingsHistory folder for the user who is experiencing the problem. This could be found in C:/documents and settings/Usersprofile. Note that the Userprofile is the administrator or the one experiencing the problem.
Delete the History folder
Delete Temp folder.
Delete temporary internet files folder but must open the folder first and delete all the files inside otherwise an error message would display that cannot delete contents of this folder.
When I was still on my old Dell computer also with Windows XP, I also occasionally receive that message when I’m about to shut down my computer. The error is temporary though and will not hurt the machine. It’s like a glitch in the system or memory when processes are starting to terminate one after the other. The error should not appear the next time you start the computer.
But if the error appears again or it frequently appears when you are using the computer then it could be a problem with the memory or the RAM modules installed on the motherboard. In this case, you need to check each of the memory module installed on the machine. If you have 32-bit Microsoft Windows, download MemTest86. For 64-bit Microsoft Windows, download MemTest64.
Don’t use these programs interchangeably because it will not work. Now, to test the memory, shut down the computer and remove the CPU case. If you have more than one memory module installed on your motherboard, remove or disconnect the others and leave only one. Start the computer then run MemTest. By default, the test runs continuously until you stop it.
Let the test run for several minutes. If no error was found, shut down the computer then change the memory module with the other one. Repeat this process on every memory module you have. If the test found an error on one memory module, stop using it and replace it with a new one.
