I want to erase some files from a cd. May someone help me to suggest any program that deletes files in a cdr? I have the Imgburn but I do not find it really helpful to delete the files I want.
Is there any program except ImgBurn that deletes files in a cdr?
First of all there are two types of CDs: read-only and rewritable. You can't delete the data on a read-only CD, but you can do this with the rewritable CDs.
To delete the files you have to have third-party software to provide this capability:
1. Roxio DirectCD (it has a new name now, but I don't use Roxio so don't know the name) works on both CDR and CDRW media.
2. Nero InCD works only on CDRW media.
3. Ashampoo Burning Studio works on CDRW. There may be other companies that make packet writing software out there, too.
Remember that the format used in one company's packet-writing system may be proprietary. Try sticking a DirectCD formatted disc into a system that uses InCD– you won't be able to read the disc.
