What is smart trip on hard drive

I ran the DOS disc test, both short and long forms, and both times I received the following warning "A SMART trip was detected prior to the test starting" even though in the initial display it showed that SMART was enabled and had not been tripped. I ran the tests anyway and the long form found one error which it repaired, and after this I ran the test again and received the same warning. Please can someone explain to me what is smart trip on hard drive?

What is smart trip on hard drive

S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology) is designed by IBM. It is quite a good monitoring system for hard drive while you test your hard drive if SMART trip then there is something wrong with your hard drive. That is not a good sign for you. You might have to change your drive. I recommend you a S.M.A.R.T diagnose utility. If the report is not good you should backup your data and replace your hard drive as soon as possible.

Kindly check for the reallocated, pending, or uncorrectable sectors. If they are bellow threshold level then your data might be in danger. Make backup and change hard drive.
