On my pc that runs on windows 7 – 64bit platform, whenever I tried to install Orca software, I got the following error message in compiling a MSI package.
The error message says,
The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing the package, This may indicate a problem with this package.
The error code is 2356
I don’t know how to fix it up. Do you have any idea? If yes, please help me.

Hi James B Payton,
You tried to install MSI Package but the error code 2356 occurred.
The Error code 2356 means : Could not locate cabinet in stream, or the MSI could be corrupted. That time You have to troubleshoot it. When troubleshooting embedded streams, you may use WiStream.vbs to list the streams and use Msidb.exe to export the streams, Microsoft says.
Thank You.

Hi James,
This is caused by a corrupted software installer package, what you can try to do is to see if you can do a force install. You can do this by browsing through the installation folder and then look for the file that has .MSI extension.
Follow the onscreen instruction and see if it will install.
If all else fails this can be caused by severely corrupted installer you can ask for another copy.
Or you can check this link to see a detailed information.
