Hi Miguel Montano,

Well, there are probably a lot of reasons why your mouse is acting weird. Maybe, it is caused by a hardware problem, a software problem, a driver issue, a virus infection, or your mouse. Well, since you stated “after sometime, it works perfectly”, I can assume that sometimes your mouse is acting weird, and sometimes it is not. In this case, it can be a hardware problem, or a mouse problem. Whatever it is, we should try all the possibilities to troubleshoot this problem. First, uninstall and reinstall mouse drivers. It should be in the manufacturer’s site, and in Microsoft windows site. Download and install it. If this does not repair your problem, then it must be a hardware problem. Try to switch your mouse with another one. If all else fail bring your computer to the nearest service center.

Your computer has really nothing to do with the occasional odd behavior of your mouse. It is probably a sign that the device will wear out soon and you need to prepare a replacement when it suddenly stopped working. I’ve experienced this once with my old ball-type mouse. The left button sometimes doesn’t work properly that’s why I decided to exchanged it with the right button temporarily.

It worked for a time but even if I did this it still stopped working one day. The problem usually starts when the mouse experiences frequent drops. The small electronic parts from the inside that control the device somewhat loosen a bit. That’s why it is important not to drop your mouse very frequently because the day will come when it will stop working.

The mouse doesn’t stop immediately. It will first show signs of the problem and will worsen as day passes by. I don’t think you can repair a mouse even if you know how to solder and repair electronic parts because it is usually the sensor that has the problem and that’s irreplaceable.
