How to delete a fake FaceBook account created by someone

Hi,

I just realized someone has created a Facebook account with my name and photo and uses it to request friends and also post some things that are king of illegal. How do I get rid of that account? Are there things I can do to stop such a thing from happening again?

You can report that profile to Facebook. Share the fake profile in your friends circle and ask them to report too. The more no. Of complaints will lead the social site to get notice of the Facebook fake profile and may delete it.

Hello Patricia C Lahr,

Yes it is completely illeagal to open a fake ID. But there are inumberable fakes accounts in facebook that you just can't recognize and Facebook should take steps to eradicate these accounts. Actually you don have any permission to delete other's account even if it's fake (as facebook don't know that it's fake). There's no such option. But you can report that account.

1. Log in to your account.

2. Go to the fake profile and click on the settings icon.

3. Now click "Report/Block".

By blocking and further explanation Facebook may take it under explanation. And tell your other firends to report the fake id as well.
