I am getting error on establishing data connection on InfoPath. I have a list that needs a established data connection. How can I do it? The error I got is shown below:

Operation could not be completed

First of all, ensure that you have a top-site under your WebApp to make the InfoPath and the SharePoint connected. And ensure that there is a root site under the web app. And then follow the steps below:

1. Launch the Central Administrator and then click the Application Management.

2. Click View all site collections and then choose the web app from the drop down and ensure if the root site collection is ready http://serverName:12345.

3. If there is no root site found, click the Application Management and then click the Create site collection from the Site Collections.

4. Make the root site and then attempt to make a new connection in the InfoPath form.
