I have problem with uninstalling both Boot Magic 7.0 and Partition Magic 7.0. I had not made many partitions, but when Boot magic is loaded the processes asking me to select two operating system. Win XP or MSDOS. I decided not to install this in XP, so want uninstall this. When I try to do this though, it initializes InstallShield Wizard, which promptly spits the following message at me:
Severe
Unable to load DLL.
OK.
When I clicked on OK, then both program stay. Anyone know of a way to uninstall this beast without the wizard?
Help please!
Partition Magic 7.0 Uninstalling problems
Hi Ribon,
Hope you are doing well.
-
You may try to have the application re installed again then have the system reboot.
-
When you have the application re installed make sure it will be on the same folder so as to replace the missing files that gives you the error. Reboot your computer after installing it again. After your system has booted try to run the un install again from the Add / Remove Programs. This should let you uninstall the applications without showing you those errors again.
I hope this helps you solve the error that keeps coming up when you do the un installation.
Partition Magic 7.0 Uninstalling problems
I suggest you to uninstall Partition Magic but first to check and repair for corrupted files within the root directory of your partition magic software.
-
Open the command prompt and type this chkdsk C: /f and restart your PC when told. In case your partition magic is installed in drive d, then use this command chkdsk d: /f.
-
Go to control panel and remove partition magic and any other entries associated with it.
-
Open regedit on the RUN window CTRL + R, and navigate to this entry. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlSession Manager look for the entry bootExecute in the right panel and double click it and remove any entries with Xmnt2002.
Cheers.
Partition Magic 7.0 Uninstalling problems
If you have a problem uninstalling programs via the Control Panel, try using a third-party program like Revo. Download the free version of Revo Uninstaller and install. Once installed, start Revo then select the program you want to uninstall among the applications and click “Uninstall.” Follow the normal uninstall process. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click to restart later.
When uninstall is complete, click “Scan” to scan your computer for any leftover files and click to delete everything it finds. This removes everything the program created on your computer. When it is finished, exit Revo then restart the computer. After booting, uninstall the next program you want to remove. I have used PowerQuest PartitionMagic back in Windows XP and I haven’t got a single problem.
If you need to partition your hard drive, try EaseUS Partition Master Free.
