The laptop is working, but in Japanese Language

Hi Experts,

I just bought a second hand Toshiba laptop from eBay which I like to give to my little sister. When I finally received the laptop, from its package to the laptop and with its accessories, I am to say that it is well maintained by the previous owner.

Checking the insides, it is booting up fine, and by the looks of it, it must be running on Vista. Problem now is, the navigation are all in Japanese Language. And I do not understand a thing. I just know where to click the Start button. Please help on how can I revert it to English?

Dear Carrie Macy,

Few solutions are here.

1. For this problem you will have to change your Windows, uninstall this one and then install the Windows of English language.
2. You will have to install the English Software  which can supports you laptop towards English language.
3. Go to the control panel < select original settings< change your settings to default English language.

Hello Carrie Macy,

You can only change the language of Vista if you have Vista Ultimate or Enterprise.

With Ultimate, you can download the language packs for free. Just open Windows Update, choose "view available updates",

and check the language pack you want.

Afterwards, from Control Panel (categories view), just choose "Change display language" under "Clock, Language and Region".

Pick your language, log off, log on, and done.

If you have another version of Vista other than those two, such as Windows Vista Home Premium, you'll need to purchase a "full version" of Windows Vista in your desired language and perform a "clean install" or install it on a separate partition or drive (dual-boot).
