Microsoft Office Groove is an Internet software that is use to make direct connections with people who are important to the user. With it you can create a team from both inside and even outside of your company without any IT assistance required. It is use for organic and quick conversation and collaboration without the need to think about firewalls, servers, security or even network access.

Microsoft Office Groove is actually gone. This application is now known as Microsoft SharePoint Workspace. This is now a discontinued application intended for members in teams for document collaboration. This is designed for users who are members of a team who are not regularly connected to the internet or those individuals that don’t share the same network security clearance.
The application’s last release was with Microsoft Office 2010 and is no longer included in Microsoft Office 2013 or Office 365. One of Office Groove’s uses includes coordination between emergency relief agencies wherein various organizations don’t share the same security infrastructure and also where accessing data offline is vital. Microsoft Office Groove was originally developed by Ray Ozzie, Lotus Notes creator, and by Groove Networks in Beverly, Massachusetts.
In March 2005, Microsoft acquired Groove Networks. Among the basic set of services included in Office Groove includes store-and-forward messaging delivery, firewall/NAT transparency, always-on security, persistent chat, ad-hoc group formation, and change notification.
