Greetings. I hope I am posting in the right section, well anyway, whenever I open Adobe Photoshop CS 4 – Unable to continue because of a hardware or system error.
I am unable to continue with the program. I always receive and error like this while starting Adobe Photoshop CS 4.
I thought that I might be caused by my settings and add-ons and plug-ins but I'm not sure.
Can anybody give a simple solution?
Or a tutorial to show how I will address this issue, and get my Adobe Photoshop CS 4 working again.

Photoshop CS 4 – Unable To Continue Because Of A Hardware/System Error
I Think this is the best solution for that:
Remove the Photoshop settings file. Open Photoshop CS2 while pressing Ctrl+Alt+Shift on your keyboard. Click Yes when the message Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings file? is displayed.
Reset your computer’s clock. Right-click the lower right hand corner of the Windows taskbar and choose Adjust Date/Time. Ensure that it is showing the correct time and date]
If you cannot see the image below. see attached file. 🙂
Photoshop CS 4 – Unable To Continue Because Of A Hardware/System Error
Dear Carolina
You can face problems and crashes if there are incompatibilities between Photoshop and the display components that access the GPU.
1. Make sure that you are using the latest update of Photoshop.
2. Update your display driver.
3. Reset preferences.
Reset Photoshop preferences by press and hold Shift+Ctrl+Alt (Windows) immediately after you start Photoshop. Click yes when asked if you want to delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings File.
4. If you are using two video adapters then remove the additional card.
5. Reduce your monitor resolution.
If above solution not working then you can see the detail procedure regarding fixing of that problem here
Hope after reading above, you will able to fix your problem.
