As, you know everything is connected via wires in a CPU. So, USB ports are also connected to motherboard via wires.Â
The connection point of USB and motherboard is called Jumpers. Might be the connections of front USB ports are not done properly or they got brooked and connections of back USB are well connected that is why only back USB ports are working.
Â
That’s because the USB ports at the back of your CPU are connected directly to your motherboard while the USB ports in front are not. They have to be connected to the board manually. The USB ports in front of your CPU are actually optional and don’t come with the motherboard. They were added as an additional feature of the CPU case manufacturer.
The USB ports in front have cables inside that need to be connected to the motherboard manually. It is actually not hard to connect the cables. Just check the imprint on the motherboard for the proper pin configurations. The pins for the USB ports are designated with their respective pin numbers.
You just need to find which cables belong to which USB port and connect them to its designated pin numbers. You might find the cables confusing because of the additional audio cables inside but when you do find the cables, it is very easy to connect. This task requires opening of the CPU case to properly view the cables inside.
