There are many ways that you can do to have a private email address. First, you need to sign-up an account with an email provider if you don’t have any yet or if you are planning to get a new one. There are settings on your email account wherein you can opt to have your email address publicly visible or in private. Make sure that the setting is in private. These spammers have their way of getting your email address. They can get it if you subscribe to mailing list, if you have it posted on web pages, chat rooms, yellow pages and by infiltrating the website. The best way to avoid this is to refrain from posting it on the above mentioned and not giving it to just anyone.

Hi,

I feel this is important. We generally give our emails easily to various web portals and blogs. We sometimes give our emails to unknown persons. This might lead to identity theft and problem for you in future. You should also not allow such sites to make them public so that others cannot access them. In that case you need to make your email address private. At the time of filling the form to various services, we get an option that we would like to make our email public. Never choose this option to public and insure privacy. This will make your email private and none third party will be able to read your email.
