iSM software cannot save the settings in configuration

This is obviously a compatibility issue between your operating system and the program you are using. This is actually a bug that appears only when you run it on Microsoft Windows 7 but doesn’t exist and will not appear if iSM was installed on a computer running Microsoft Windows XP. The reason behind this is in the design of the computer and the operating system currently installed.

Some of the models of NEC Personal Computers either desktop or laptop were launched before Microsoft Windows 7 was released in October 22, 2009. All of these models are not qualified to run Microsoft Windows 7 and these are all the models that bound to or released in Asia Pacific.

So, in other words, if you are located somewhere in the Asia Pacific and your computer’s model was released before the said date and you install Windows 7, you will obviously see this error. The solution to this is setting the application in compatibility mode to Windows XP and it should fix the problem.

Look for the file “iSMCL.exe” in the application’s installation folder and set the file to run in compatibility mode to Windows XP Service Pack 3. See image.
