I have an iMac Mini lying in my closet that I don't use often so I got an Idea.
Can I use iMac mini to be either a home server?
The only advantage I know is that it consumes less than conventional desktops.
What are the things I should know before I can set it up as a Home Server?
IMac Mini As A Home Server
Hi dude,
Obviously you can use your existing iMac mini to create a home server. By put on some configuration to it you can able to make a home file server with it and able to access it files wirelessly from anywhere of your wireless network. So why so late? Just follow the instruction-
For doing this perfectly, you have need two things specially.
1. A Mac running OS X
2. An Ethernet Jack or Airport card (original Ethernet card was built in 1999, but iMac is more older than that).
3. Now you need a cable to connect with your spare iMac
Now you got to go.
Hope you will enjoy your new iMac home file server.
Thanks.
