What is Filemaker PRO and how to use it

• Filemaker Pro is database software that can be used to get any task done in a faster way. It is simple, easy to learn but very powerful. You can create your own database from there and store and organize all your data and use its built-in security to limit the user access to your database. 
• If you don’t have experience in developing applications, you can start by choosing one of its many built-in “Starter Applications” that caters to the needs of different people and industries. And as you become familiar with its development environment, you can customize those built-in applications (by customizing the layouts and writing scripts) or better yet develop your own app from scratch based on your requirements. 
• Another advantage of Filemaker Pro over other database application is that it is cross-platform, meaning it can be installed both on Windows and a Mac and the database can even be shared via web. You can even use and share the same database across all platforms.

FileMaker Pro is a cross-platform relational database application from FileMaker Inc., formerly Claris, a subsidiary of Apple Inc. It integrates a database engine with a GUI-based interface, allowing users to modify the database by dragging new elements into layout, screens or forms. Current versions are:

FileMaker Pro 11, FileMaker Pro Advanced 11, FileMaker Server 11, FileMaker Server Advanced 11, and FileMaker Go for iPhone and iPad. FileMaker evolved from a DOS application, but was then developed primarily for the Apple Macintosh. Since 1992 it has been available for Microsoft Windows as well as Mac OS, and can be used in a heterogeneous environment.
