Hello,
I was installing Avira Free Antivirus software but failed because an error happened (see screenshot below).Â
I tried to install again, but the same error happened. I wasn’t sure where to find the said file.
So please, can someone help me how to install Avira properly?Â
Thanks in advance.

First you have to check if you are logged in as System Administrator to your Windows OS. Next step is to uninstall all Avira products that you were using before. Then I suggest you to use some software for registry cleaning to delete all Avira traces in registry. Then try to install Avira again.

You have to enter WebGuard settings box and add exceptions for file types and URLs that you use often. You will have to check boxes for groups of file types you use often or type kind of file extensions in File type box you want WebGuard to skip. Then enter exact URLs that you want WebGuard to skip during scan.

If that isn’t working then boot your computer and repeat all steps using Safe Mode.

If that won’t work, maybe you should install Microsoft® Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) and then try to install Avira Free again. (You can download it here).
