Problems related to MS Office?

Hi guys,

Few days back, I purchased a brand new Gateway desktop. It was working fine until I installed Office 2010. When I tried to open a PowerPoint attachment from an e-mail, the following error message occurred which is shocking and disturbing!

Microsoft PowerPoint

PowerPoint has detected that your graphics card may not be configured properly for

an optimal slide show experience.

I have done hours and hours of research, but I still don't understand what factors are responsible for this issue.

Please let me know how I should configure the graphics card so that I can open PowerPoint slideshow files.

Hi dear,

Intel doesn't provide support for 82852/82855 Graphics Controller for Windows 7. As you know that 82852/82855 Graphics Controller hardware does support DirectX 9.

DirectX 9 includes Pixel Shader 2.0 and Vertex Shader 2.0. So you install again Windows XP and its compatible drivers. But I suggest you use Office 2007 because it doesn't have any such type of issue.

Because Pixel Shaders are still required and even with XP drivers, you may still have a performance issue with Office 2010 and PowerPoint. Use Windows 7 and use Office 2007, they are compatible and now you can do your work very easily because there is no such type of issue.

I think that the graphics acceleration wasn’t enabled. You might want to try this:

Probably you are using Windows XP since you haven’t mentioned your Operating System. Okay?

• In the windows desktop right click and choose Properties in the pop up menu. Now click the settings tab then advanced.
• Once your in the dialog box click the troubleshoot tab, under the Hardware acceleration, just move the slider just a notch to the left then OK often times as needed when returning into the desktop.
• Once done, in changing the acceleration  re-test, after  setting acceleration, just repeat until the problem is fixed.
