DVD drive not work properly?

I am purchase a computer few days ago. Then my DVD work properly.

But now it does not working. 

When i use CD then it work but when i use DVD then it is not work.

So what is solve of my DVD drive.

Hello Khaled,

I read your problem. This problem is common with mostly DVD ROMs.

Firstly I suggest for you to purchase "CD ROM lens cleaner". It is a CD with small brush merge on the shiny surface of the CD. when it runs inside the CD ROM it cleans the lens. This method is less effective but necessary.

Otherwise CD Rom repairers can fix this problem by adjusting the laser beam intensity. Actually DVD cd requires more powerful laser beam to read the DVD disk then the normal compactable cd and due to heavy usage laser beam of DVD ROM Drive is weak.

So I advised you to don't buy a second hand DVD ROM or DVD writer ever.

Hi Khaled_mithun,

The problem was quite easier to resolve if the drive was not going to read any media. But you mentioned it is reading CD but not DVD, this case is more sensitive to think about, that where is the difference in reading CD or DVD.

I expect that you would have checked multiple DVDs so we can’t say that the DVD you are inserting is damaged.

The beam used to read a CD optically has frequency of 44 kHz, but that of DVD is 192 kHz. That means problem is with the lens which is not creating a concentrated beam for DVD but is making for reading CD.

Try cleaning lens and do use good quality DVDs to avoid such issues occur again.
