Hi,

My younger is learning computer hardware online course. Yesterday he format my Desktop Computer and I have lost all my important official data and files in it. It wont be a problem if he formatted system drive only.

Instead of C: drive he formatted D: drive.

Is there any solution that I can get my all data and files recovered ?

Thank You.

Don't be panic of loosing your important data , a computer specialist can retrieve the data and now a days so many free soft wares are alive to retrieve your data . Actually when the hard disk is formatted , only addresses of the actual table is lost , its just like index page of the book is lost but actual pages will be left and can retrieved.

I personally recommend to go for free soft wares like

OfCourse there are few utility tools to get the deleted files , missed files like

  • Test Disk , UndeletePlus, Restoration, PhotoRec, Recuva, on my research these tools may help you to get out of the problem.

Since your younger brother or sister already formatted your computer including all installed hard drives, you have no choice but to install Windows again. And since your computer has 2 drives in it, I think the best remedy would be to format drive C and then install Windows again then after restoring the system back you can now try restoring drive D if it is still possible to recover it.

Proceed on formatting drive C and then installing Windows in it. Then after installing Windows, you can now install back all of your programs that were previously installed on your machine. But while doing all the installations to restore all of your previous applications in your system, don’t do a single mistake of copying or putting anything or any file on drive D. Copying or moving even a single file on to the deleted drive will cause it not to be recovered.

When you are finished restoring all of your programs, open your web browser and do a search for Partition Magic 7.0 and above. Download and install it on your computer. After installing, open the application. Click or select the partition or the drive that you will be recovering then click Operations then select Undelete like the one in the image below. In the image below, the Undelete option is unavailable because I don’t have a blank or unformatted drive in my computer. In your case, this option will be available after selecting the deleted drive.
