CDBurnerXP has problem during initialization

Hello experts

I am getting this error ‘StarBurn burning engine could not be initialized, CDBurnerXP will not work’ after this message it just crashed the program. I want to use this CDBurnerXP, how I can use it by avoiding this error? By the way what is a COM object? I don’t understand anything from this error details, please someone explain me. Thanks.

Make sure that CDBurnerXP is installed properly, re-install if necessary.

Error details: Unable to cast COM object of type ‘RocketDivision.StarBurnX.StarBurnXClass’ to interface type ‘RocketDivision.StarBurnX.IStarBurnX2’. This operation failed because the QueryInterface call on the COM component for the interface with IID ‘{1B49F136-B054-BEA5-025271874B33}’ failed due to the following error: Interface not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040155).

CDBurnerXP has problem during initialization

COM object literally means "Component Object Model" and is a standard for software components introduced by microsoft in 1993.

For this error, you need to edit some of your registry values.



First, to backup your registry files, copy and paste  the code at the end of this comment in a .reg file if you need to restore or if the following editing or changes didn't do anything.



Follow the following steps:

1. Press start, run and type in "regedit" or "regedit.msc"

2. In the Registry Editor, in the left panel, double click the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE folder

3. Double click the System Folder, then the CurrentControlSet folder

4. There, double click the Control Folder, and inside it, the Class Folder

5. Inside the Class folder, click the {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

6. In the right side, select the UpperFilters registry value and hit Del/Delete. In the popup notification, click the yes button

7. Do the same for the LowerFilters registry value

8. Close regedit, then restart the computer
