Hi tech experts,
I am facing this odd error message for the past few days. I am trying to uninstall mIRC program from the computer, but it is not allowing me to uninstall completely. It says that the program is unavailable but I am able to see it. How do I uninstall the program? Do I need to connect to the internet? Please help. Suggestion please, thanks.
C:Program FilesmIRC refers to a location that is unavailable. It could be on a hard drive on this computer, or on a network. Check to make sure that the disk is properly inserted, or that you are connected to the Internet or your network, and then try again. If it still cannot be located, the information might have been moved to a different location.
An error occurs when uninstall mIRC program from the computer
It seems that an error may have occurred when you originally installed it creating a conflict in the system as well as in the registry. If the computer doesn’t allow you to uninstall it even if you really see it there on your Windows Explorer or in the desktop, try removing the program using the Safe Mode.
This is usually the ideal way of removing a program that can’t be removed in normal mode. Restart your computer and right after the BIOS appears and before the Windows logo appears press F8 continuously until the Windows Advanced Options Menu appears. On this screen, select Safe Mode and press Enter twice to start the computer in Safe Mode. See image.
Click Yes when prompted. At this point, use the program’s uninstaller to uninstall it or use the Add or Remove Programs applet in the Control Panel to remove the application. Restart your computer in normal mode after this. If in case you still want to install it, you should install the latest version from Download mIRC 7.32.
This version supports Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8. For users who have Windows 8.1 and happens to encounter an error, try running it in compatibility mode to any of the supported operating systems. This might fix the problem.
