My Phone is Samsung Galaxy 551 using android 2.2.
A while ago, I have got a notice saying that "incoming messages full". I've already deleted more than a hundred messages, but I still get the notification.
Is there something wrong with my phone? And how to fix it?

Incoming message full notification android
No. There is nothing awfully wrong with the phone. Android's default messaging application stores the incoming text messages in the phone's internal memory and it doesn't use the extendable (SD, MMC card) memory for this purpose. This puts a restriction on the number of SMS that can be stored on a phone. You probably got up to the limit on your's.
Here is the solution.Delete all of the unused and supplementary applications lying around in the phone's internal memory. This will create some free space on the internal memory thus allowing messages to be received which hinders the notification.
If that doesn't work out:Install "Handcent" (a powerful messaging app for Android OS) and disable the notifications of the stock messaging application or if you are an advanced user and can play with the root; rename mms.apk to mms.apk.bat. This will disable the stock messaging app as a whole.
Even that doesn't work out then, Back-up all your data and do the factory reset from Settings>Privacy>Factory data reset.
Hope this is helpful.
