Hi guys.

I have downloaded the K-Lite Codec Pack. It allowed me to view movies that I was not able to before, but when I tried to burn them I receive an error message. It says the following:

"Operating system error: Gdiplus::Status = 0x800401f3 -13"

Can anyone tell me what this means and how I can fix it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Andrei,

0x800401f3 -13 errors are usually caused because of Windows XP file system corruption or like incomplete installation or deletion like that. It’s totally independent of your K-Lite codec software. But just to make sure, just re-install your K-Lite codec software then try burning again. If still error pertains means the problem is definitely with your Windows Operating System.

There are millions of ways to fix this problem. But I suggest the easiest method is to download a user-friendly repair tool and let it do everything and you can rest. Download the 0x800401f3 -13 error repair tool from: K-Lite Codec Pack.

Install it and scan it and fix the errors with it and put on a system restart, and try burning. It sure going to work. That solves your case.

Good day Andrei,

You mentioned that the error message appears when you try to burn a CD/DVD. Are you, by any chance, using "Sonic" software to burn your CD/DVD?

Based on my research, the error message "Operating system error: Gdiplus::Status = 0x800401f3 -13" is caused by a conflict between the gdiplus.dll that Sonic uses and the gdiplus.dll that installed by default in Windows. Sonic compares its copy of gdiplus.dll with the gdiplus.dll in Windows win32 directory. A mismatch between the two versions causes Sonic to generate the error you described. So, apparently, the problem is not with K-Lite Codec Pack.

Since the Sonic software that you are using has apparently been discontinued, I suggest you find another CD/DVD burning software. You don't have to spend much since there a couple of CD/DVD burning software out there that are free such as Imgburn. Hope this helps.
