Error burning files using Nero

I am using a Samsung WriteMaster SH-W162Z and Nero 9 for burning files in to DVD.

These past few days it gives me an error at the end of burning process saying “Burn process failed”

As a result, of course the Disc is corrupted and I need to burn the files again. I already used DVD lens cleaner to clean the lens of my DVD-ROM and checked the disc if scratched/damaged before using it.

What should be the best solution for this?

Cleaning the lens solved me many times but as you are saying that it didn't helped you, try the following.

  • First thing to do is to upgrade the version of your Nero to Nero 6.6.0.15c will definitely help you out.
  • Install the latest drivers of Samsung write master and check I hope it should solve your problem.

But if the problem still exists try the alternate way where I found it helpful on some other forums.

  • Check out this link to ASPI Utility which has ASPI chk took in it.
  • Follow the instructions in readme given, good luck and hope this could help you

I already experienced that on one of my CDs I burned before. The disc just went corrupted after I add a file in its contents. But I already knew what went wrong and I always try to keep in mind this every time I burn a disc on my computer. The problem here is not with the application you are using in burning the disc. The problem and the root of the error is purely hardware and sometimes the disc itself is the cause of its corruption.

If the disc you are burning already contains files from your previous burning sessions and its capacity is nearly full, don’t attempt to still add more files in it to make its contents fit the available space of the disc. Don’t consume all the available space of the disc because this sometimes causes the corruption of the CD.
