After installing operating system Windows XP Service Pack 2, I entered my motherboard disk. I install all drivers and necessary software from that disk. After restarting, I cannot access my keyboard and mouse. My keyboard and mouse is connecting motherboard via USB port. But after XP is installed it is working properly.
Where is the problem? How can I solve this problem?

First of all check if you have connected the two hardwares into the correct ports. If not then change the ports and they will work
If this restart the machine and check if they are working

Then click RUN

Type in the box "dxdiag" this will bring you all the information you need about your computer

Go to the manufacturers website and input the system model that you checked above. and then download the keyboard and mouse drivers

Install the downloaded drivers and your devices will work as good as new

Try restarting your computer again and make sure everything is connected properly. Check to see if your computer's keyboard and mouse works outside the operating system. Meaning to say try to login to the BIOS and see if the keyboard works. If it does, then the hardware is not faulty. I'm quite confident that it will though since the only change that occurred before the problem started was when you installed the motherboard disk. After doing a restart try and check if the keyboard and mouse does not work. If it still doesn't, then it's likely that one of the drivers installed via the motherboard disk corrupted your keyboard and mouse drivers. You can just do system restore to get it resolved. Then install the motherboard drivers again, this time pick each of them one by one so that if the problem happens again you'll know which driver caused it.

If your keyboard and mouse stopped working after installing all the drivers for your motherboard from the CD, try disconnecting the affected devices from the USB port. After this, connect the devices back but to another USB port different from the port where they were originally connected to. See if this detects the devices. If this doesn’t work, try to disable and re-enable USB support from your BIOS.
To do this, restart your computer then press DEL, DELETE, F2, or whichever key is used to go to the BIOS before the Windows logo appears. In the BIOS, navigate to the legacy devices section then disable the USB feature. Save the new settings then restart the computer. Again, repeat the same steps before the Windows logo appears to go to the BIOS.
This time, enable the USB feature and save the settings. Restart your computer then see if it works. If the problem continues and the USB ports are completely disabled, format your system drive and install Windows again to fix the problem.
