Hi there,
I have this error in Ubuntu when I want to connect my Android device to my laptop. On my PC with Windows 7 I don’t have any problem connecting the same Android device. I start to believe that I have a problem with my laptop. How can I connect my Android device to my laptop without getting this error?
Thank you!

This problem really depends on the phone software you are using because it needs to be compatible with Ubuntu before you can install it and be able to connect your handset. If your phone software works very well on Windows 7, this may not be the case on Ubuntu because they are different operating systems.
To fix your problem, check with your handset’s official website if they released a version that supports Ubuntu. If there isn’t any then you have to stick with your Microsoft Windows 7 computer when updating your handset and installing different apps. You can always connect your handset to your Ubuntu computer but the operating system will not be able to recognize the attached device.
Aside from that, your Ubuntu computer will not be able to browse and access the contents of the handset without installing the phone software of your handset. Remember, not all applications support Ubuntu yet.
