Error 1925. You do not have sufficient privileges error

Hello,

I am trying to install Opera 10 on my Windows Vista Ultimate machine. I keep getting an error message that I cannot install the software. It says that I do not have privileges.

Error 1925. You do not have sufficient privileges to complete this installation for all users of the machine. Log on as an administrator and then retry this installation.

I am logged in as an administrator and still I am not able to perform the installation successfully. I tried to research the web and found that I can use the, Run As command. I right clicked and selected Run As administrator but still I get the same error message.

Can anyone help me with this error message?

Hi Daniel, 

I want to thank you for posting your question here. Basically, your query is more about networking facilities. It is not possible to install the Opera Browser due to some privileges issue, with error provided 1925.

The following are some tips to resolve this issue –

• Go to Start > All Programs and Accessories.
• Right click on Command Prompt and then pick Run as Administrator.
• Now hit yes to provide permission.
• You need to type the installer’s path name: C:UsersNameDownloadinstall.msi.
• After you have renamed the file, see above example. Then you may require to generate a new account that has network administrator privileges.
• A misplaced and despoiled DLL file may be one of the reasons for displaying error 1925. You need to download repair tool if the error continuously displays. After the completion of all the above mentioned processes, you need to restart the computer.

I anticipate that the above will solve the issue as this has been earlier proved with fruitful results based on my experience.

Error 1925. You do not have sufficient privileges error

The error message is pretty clear and is shows that you have not installed on to the computer with an administrator account, and therefore you will need to switch account and log on to the computer with an account that has administrative credentials. You will need to follow the procedure below to do that:

• On your computer, click on start.
• And then locate the 'shut down' button in programs list, just next to start.
• Expand it, and then you will see the 'switch user' option.
• Click on it and then switch accounts to the one that has administrative privileges.

You will then need to transfer the setup to the new account and install it from there.

Hi there

The following steps are required in order to successfully install the software –

• At first, you may require to hit the link for downloading the software.
• Hit Save button, if you are about to Save or Run the software, click Save.
• You may require fixing the file location since the download is done
• If you have saved the file in Desktop, then you may require to close all the programs and search for the icon
• If it has not been saved in Desktop, then you may need to open either My Computer or Windows Explorer
• Once you have found the file location, you may need to right click on it and then again left click on Run As Administrator from the menu appeared in pop-up.

Hi
