What is a Fiber optic cable and types of fiber optic cables?

Hello,

Fiber-optic cables use light rather than electric signals to send data transmissions.

These optical light signals travel a fiberglass core. Mostly this technology called as a fiber optics or optical cabling.

There are two categorize of fiber optic cables and those are multimode and single mode fiber optic cables

Multimode fiber optic cable used for shorter distance network and it is ideal for small type of network.

Single-mode fiber optic cable used to span longer distance. It also allows higher data rate and faster data transmission speed than Multimode cable.
