Hello Nancy,

Your subject was good. but in the question field what language you write I am not understand. I think you made mistake to select language or font.
Anyway as per your subject you want to write html but not finding best way to write html code. So I think you are beginner with html coding. So please try to write it with open Notepad.
Please click start then click Accessories then click Notepad and start writing html code.

The best way to write a HTML is off course you need to know the basics of HTML tags.
It is not the best way to start in creating html using dream weaver or any web authoring tool. The best way is to create your own by manual HTML tagging. In this way, you will know each element in your html code.
Notepad or any text editor is the tool for creating HTML code and it is commonly used specially for beginners.
I have the best tool for manual coding. I use the notepad++ where this text editor supports many web authoring language. It has also line numbers on the left side which will be your guide to find errors as indicated on browser error which shows the line number of the resulting error.
