Hello Mickela8733, I have here below the steps to fix code appear in a Word Document. Here is the original text you described in your post. "{ADDIN EN.CITE 20043}"

Microsoft Office Versions: 2000/2002/2003:

  1. Click Tools Menu, Go to Options, Then View the Tab, remove the Field Codes. This should be the solution of this issue.
  2. These steps only applies if you are using Windows versions and installed Microsoft Office version mentions above.

For Microsoft Word 2007:

  1. Click on the Office Icon, go to Word Options below.
  2. Go to Advanced Options, go down to Show Document content. Remove the check titled  Show field codes instead of their values
  3. Apply or Click OK and this should show the normal screen.

Chao!

No matter what version of the Microsoft Office you are using, what you should do is to remove the option that says “Show field codes”. Depending on the version it may be described in a different way, but the function is the same. You can find this in the Options menu, but the simplest way is to search the Help section for “field codes” for example.
