Why Is My HP Printer Not Printing?
Printers normally have a good life. There are however numerous reasons to why your printer does not print. Since you have already ruled out the obvious reason of no paper, we can look into other matters.
- At first, you need to check whether the printer’s warning light is on or not. If it’s on, then there is something wrong with the printer itself, and it needs maintenance.
- You must also not forget to check if the ink cartridge is empty. Sometimes the warning light is on as it tells you to replace the ink
- Take out the cartridge to look out for a shred or piece of paper stuck within the tray. This is a common issue and disrupts normal mechanism of the printer which inhibits its printing.
- Also try troubleshooting with the application software that comes with the printer.

If your printer is working fine before but not now, try reinstalling its application or the printer software which will also reinstall the driver. If the problem is with the printer driver, this will fix the problem. To perfectly uninstall the printer software, download and install Revo Uninstaller Freeware. Follow the instructions to download and unpack the file.
Once installed, launch Revo Uninstaller then select your printer software from the list and then click “Uninstall” from the panel. Follow the instructions to perform a clean removal of the application then restart your computer when you are prompted. Once it is removed, connect your printer to your computer and then install the printer software back.
In case you no longer have the installer or the setup CD, you can always download it from the printer manufacturer’s website. Just visit its website and go to the support page. You should be able to find the information how to download the driver in there.
In case the printer still doesn’t work even after reinstalling the driver or the printer software, make sure the USB cable is still functional. When you connect your printer to your computer, your computer should be able to detect it. If you don’t see your printer on the system tray, try transferring the cable to a different USB port. If this doesn’t work, try using a different USB cable.
