I was recently trying to mount an ISO file which I downloaded from the internet using PowerISO. However, it says that the Power ISO file format is invalid or unsupported. How do I resolve this issue?
Error: Poweriso File Format Is Invalid Or Unsupported In Windows.
There might be two reasons for this problem.
- Make sure that the ISO file which you have downloaded is not corrupt or private. Make sure you have access to read this file.
2. If everything is alright with your file, make sure you are mounting the file through PowerISO and not the system.
If both the solutions do not work, trying using other ISO softwares like Daemon Tools.
Error: Poweriso File Format Is Invalid Or Unsupported In Windows.
PowerISO is designed to open ISO files and other CD or DVD disc image formats. If the application is throwing an “invalid file format” or “unsupported file format” that would mean your ISO file is corrupt or damaged. If this happens, PowerISO will not be able to open or mount the file.
If the ISO file you are trying to mount came from or was downloaded from another website, the best workaround is to download the ISO file again then make sure it downloads completely. Don’t try to repair the ISO file because even if you were able to fix it and make PowerISO able to mount it, its contents may not be the same.
It may corrupt its contents. The following are the supported disc image formats:
- ISO (Generic CD images)
- BIN/CUE
- BIN (CDRWin)
- IMA/IMG (Generic disk images)
- CIF (Easy CD Creator)
- NRG (Nero – Burning ROM)
- IMG/CCD (CloneCD)
- MDF/MDS (Alcohol120%)
- VCD (Farstone Virtual Drive)
- VaporCD (Noum Vapor CDROM)
- P01/MD1/XA (Gear)
- VDI (Virtuo CD Manager)
- C2D (WinOnCD)
- BWI/BWT (BlinkWrite)
- CDI (DiscJuggler)
- TAO/DAO (Duplicator)
- PDI (Instant Copy)
- DMG (Apple disk image)
If you haven’t updated yet to the latest version, go to Download PowerISO and download the latest version.
