Outlook 2010 has been my best buddy for some time now. But, it started acting bizarre when I tried to send an email and returned reported error 0x80042109. What is it?
Corrupt PST files and emails, Incorrect Outlook profile, Viral Infection, etc. are the causes of the error 0x80042109. To resolve the error, check your mail settings for SMTP selection to outgoing server. You can also try to reinstall Outlook on your PC. Disable the firewall and try to send the email through the Outlook account. Similarly, you can also scan for malwares and spywares.
If you encounter error “0x80042109” in Microsoft Office Outlook, try this. In Microsoft Office, go to “Tools”, “Account Settings” then double-click the email account that has the problem. Next, click “More Settings” then “Advanced”. For the SMTP server, try using 587 for the port number if you are using a Gmail account. Go to “Outgoing Server” tab then click “More Settings”.
