There is one possible reason that the installation of scanner drivers is not proper:
You can reinstall the scanner driver from the CD-ROM.
If this does not solve the problem, follow the below-mentioned steps –
It can be possible that the system is not able to recognize the scanner.
If you have multiple USB ports, you can try connecting it to other port
2. Restart the computer
3. Ensure that you have released the lock switch
If you are receiving this when installing your scanner, make sure the scanner is connected properly to your computer using the USB cable. Usually, the computer needs to detect the device before it gets installed. If your scanner uses the USB cable to connect to the computer, make sure the cable is connected properly to the USB port. Your computer should first detect the scanner once it is connected.
You should see an alert on the system tray for an unknown device. If you see this that means the device is detectable and is working properly. It is identified as “unknown device” because there are no drivers yet installed on the computer to identify the device. Once your computer detects your device, you can now proceed installing the scanner software to install the drivers.
But if the computer cannot or doesn’t detect your device, there is something wrong. Try transferring the connection to a different USB port and try detecting it again. Use all four available USB ports if necessary just to detect the scanner. In case none of the USB ports worked, there is probably something wrong with the USB cable. Try using a different cable and detect your device again.
You cannot install your scanner if it cannot be detected.
