If you want change the type of the content of a cell in Microsoft Office Excel, you just need to format the cell and change its type. There are twelve categories to choose from: general, number, currency, accounting, date, time, percentage, fraction, scientific, text, special, and custom. Since you want to change the type to date, just select date.

To change the type or category of a cell, right-click on the cell where you want to display the date then select “Format Cells.”
