As a non-technical personal, it is difficult for me to understand the jargons of Windows Server. But, I want to learn about DNS in Windows Server 2008. Can anyone lend me a hand or brain for it?
Information About DNS In Windows Server 2008 In Brief.
DNS stands for Domain Name System which is given to resolution protocol for networks with TCP/IP. The alphanumeric and memorable names of DNS to the IP address are enabled to computers to resolve by the DNS server by hosting it. When DNS names get entered in an application by a user, DNS resolves the name into the information associated with that name, such as IP address.
Information About DNS In Windows Server 2008 In Brief.
There is only one DNS. Whether you have a Windows Server or just an ordinary desktop computer, you are using the same DNS. DNS stands for Domain Name System. This is how internet domain names are located and translated into IP addresses. It maps the name people use to find a website to the IP address a computer uses in locating a website.
It’s like a map for the IP address of every website on the internet. When the user enters the URL or address of a website on the browser, this URL will go straight to the DNS.
Now, since the data or URL entered by the user is in texts, the job of the DNS is to convert these texts into IP address then looks for a matching IP address. When a match is found, your connection or request will then be redirected to the matching IP address which is the website you want to go. That’s how DNS works.
