I am using Ubuntu operating system in my pc.
I have many work by using Terminal al like (network ping, my hard drive status etc.).
Now I want to use my pen drive by using Terminal but my pen drive does not recognized by the defiant.
What should I have to do?
Pendrive mount in Terminal from ubuntu.
Un-mounted your pen drive first by going to "Places” then "Computer" and select and right click "USB pen" then click "Unmount Volume" Then start formatting your pendrive by using and inputting these following commands:
A partition table controller: fdisk
Make an ext2/ext3 filesystem by restoring the provided partition name (/dev/partition): mkfs.ext3And lastly replace the name label on the ext2/ext3 filesystem using this: e2label
To restore input this command on the terminal
$ sudo mkfs. ext3/dev/sda1
Where/dev/sda1 is the device name of your USB pen . To replaced the filesystem name on your ext3 filesystem situated on your computer device such as the /dev/sda1, start commanding the e3label with this:
$ sudo e2label/dev/sdal usb-pen
Your pen drive is now formatted and you can start using it. You can also try to make a new file system with MS-DOS using this command:
$ sudo mkfs.vfat/dev/sdal
