1. THREE GORGES
The world’s largest power station Three Gorges is present in Yichang, Hubei a province in China. The 22,500 MW power station constructions were from the beginning of the year 1993 and were successfully made its presence in 2012. The dam is 181m tall and 2,335m long. From the Three Gorges project, the power is undersupplied to 9 provinces and two cities including Shangai.
2. BRUCE NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION
World’s second nuclear power generation construction is Bruce Nuclear Generating Station which has its location in Bruce country, Ontario, Canada. The plant has of 6,234 MW nuclear facilities. The pressure-water reactors in the plant have the capacities of 786 MW to 891 MW. The reactor had the start of its operation from the year 1987. Once Bruce was shut down in 1997 and was then given reopening in September 2012.
3. GURI
The Guri power station, also the Simon Bolivar hydroelectric power station is the world’s third-biggest power plant. The capacity of the plant is 10, 200 MW. The construction is from the year 1963 with two phases where the first phase was in 1978 and the next phase in 1986. The plant has 20 generating units with capacities ranging between 130 MW and 770 MW.
4. ITAIPU POWER PLANT
The Itaipu hydropower plant has its location in the river of Brazil and Paraguay. The plant is the second largest power unit in the world. It has the capacity of 14,000 MW with an annual generating power is 103.09MWh in 2016.
5. GRAVELINES POWER PLANT
Grave Lines power plant is the sixth largest power station in the world. The Gravelines power plant is in France with a capacity of 5,460 MW. The setup consists of 900 MW reactors which can supply Terawatt hour electricity.
6. HANBIT POWER PLANT
The Hanbit power plant is the sixth biggest power plant in the world which is located in Jeollanam, in South Korea. It has the capacity of 5,875 MW. The plant was first seen in the year 1986 with six units. Out of the total power generating systems 2 of them were shut down for eight weeks in 2003 due to an account of some forge of components.
7. KASHIWAZAKI-KARIWA
The Kashiwazaki hydroelectric power plant is the world’s biggest power unit now which is present in Japan. It covers the area of 4.2 square kilometers with seven huge reactor units. Two of them are Advanced Boiling Water Reactor (ABWR). The total capacity of the power plant is to be 7,965 MW.
8. GRAND COULEE PLANT

9. LONGTAN DAM PLANT
The Longtan Dam power plant is built in the river of Hongshui, China. The dam is the tallest in the world with 216.2 meters in height and 849 meters in length. The power capacity of the plant is 6,426 MW, and has an annual generation of power up to 18.7 MW/h.
10. CHURCHILL FALLS CANADA
Churchill Falls power plant is on the coast of the Churchill River, Newfoundland, and Labrador, Canada. The power plant is the tenth largest in the world which has the capacity of 5,428 MW. The hydroelectric plant was first from the year 1967. The annual power generating capacity of the plant is 35,000 GW/h.
