Recently my Nvidia driver started malfunctioning by automatically switching itself off in regular intervals. All of a sudden, even the Nvidia control panel and other features stop responding. How to get my graphics driver working like it used to and also not damage my graphics card in this process?

So the first thing to remember is not to uninstall the driver before knowing the details of the driver, you might lose all the information that you would need for further steps of installing the driver.

1) Firstly go to the device manager by right-clicking the start icon from the taskbar and select device manager.

2) Now go to display adapters there you might find two drivers right click on the one which says Nvidia.

3) Right click on this icon and go to properties check the status, if it says that the driver is working then go update driver. If the driver is not working, check the build number and the version of the driver and then uninstall it.

4) Now go to the official site of NVIDIA ( www.nvidia.com ) and download your version of the driver.

5) Restart your PC and check if your driver is working perfectly or not.

I Hope this will help you since this is what I had to do when I got into this trouble.
