I've just learned this about HTC mobile phones but I want to know what does this really say about the HTC phones in general? Does it pertain to a specific model of HTC?

HTC phones passed US customs review

 

First of all the whole patent is about when you get a text or a email or a IM and get a link/phone number/email and you click it and the phone asks you what to do with it. As Apple holds this patented this feature anyone violating thing patent can't enter U.S. This patent war has reached a peak as the customs blocked a number of HTC devices. After a very thorough investigation the HTC phones has finally started to ship to U.S. But this is not only exclusive to the new devices all of the currently running HTC devices will have to get a update which will remove the conflicting part. Now this action is not only limited to HTC but also Samsung. As Apple is also trying to get Samsung Galaxy S3 banned from U.S.

    One thing is for sure this kind of patent war are harming the customers as they can't seem to use a most common feature that almost all of the smartphone had for a long time.

HTC phones passed US customs review

The hold on the devices was in relation to the court battle between Apple and HTC about infringing a patent owned by Apple and the latter lost the fight. The two model handsets that were detained by the U.S. customs were EVO 4G LTE and AT&T HTC One X. But it seems HTC had already fixed the problem even before they shipped the units by tweaking the software.

The import ban on these two handsets had been implemented after Apple won the court battle against HTC and the two units were barred from entering the United States. Some of the models that have completed the inspection have been released to their carrier customers. The U.S. customs didn’t release any statement as to what models are being reviewed.
